The ‘
Speak Up, Stand Out’
initiative aims to help ‘Encourage the Employee Voice.
Available resources, which can be downloaded by clicking on the cover images below
, include a guide for employees and a separate companion guide for managers. Together, these guides bridge both sides of the conversation. They show how speaking up benefits not just the organisation, but also your team’s and personal growth.
For employees, the guide focuses on helping you in speaking up with confidence and impact. This isn't just about big ideas. It’s also about encouraging the sharing of day-to-day insights that improve workflows, relationships, and even culture.
You will find tips on:
When and how to speak up,
Understanding your audience across generations,
Building credibility and influence,
And supporting others to share their voice too.
The manager’s guide is designed to support those managing others in helping create a culture where employee voice isn’t just welcomed - it’s expected. It includes strategies for:
Encouraging open dialogue
Recognising and responding to feedback
Building trust across diverse teams
Navigating cultural and generational dynamics that influence communication.
It offers practical, evidence-based advice on how to spot when someone’s holding back, or how to act on feedback without derailing the team.
Both these guides hopefully help remind everybody that speaking up is about being a part of maintaining the health of an organisation.
Let’s build workplaces where everyone’s voice matters. The first steps? Speaking up and listening.
