Joining the HCA will give you access to specific and relevant learning and development, contact with industry leaders, policy makers and industry commentators through member-only events as well as opportunities to network with colleagues.

Companies marketing health related products

Any company involved in the development, manufacturing and/or distribution of health related products or services. Including, but not limited to, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, health foods and supplements, health services providers.


Any consultancy/agency working in the area of healthcare communications.

Please note, a company marketing itself with its own brand, even if part of an over-aching group brand, needs to apply for HCA membership status in its own right, unless the parent company has taken Group Membership. Overarching groups of companies, with constituent agencies, can apply for one group membership to cover all constituent companies.

Individual Associate Member

Individuals operating as 'sole traders' may become Associate Members of the HCA. The term ’sole traders’ refers only to individuals who work entirely independently, and who are not employees for any particular company or companies.

We do not to extend membership to recruitment consultancies or any other company involved in the search and selection of communications professionals.

Patient Groups / Health Charities

Any health focused third sector organisation (patient groups, health charities and not-for-profits).

The HCA welcomes your organisation to join with complementary membership. You will receive the full benefits of being members, including our increasing number of free events and networking opportunities, where knowledge and innovation from across the whole healthcare communications sector are shared. You will also receive special rates for training and other activity.
