Passion Partnership at the HCA

Passion Partnership History

The Passion Partnership was founded in 2023 by Jennie Talman. Since then its work has brought together many healthcare agencies and charities in highly successful Pro Bono collaborations.

The Passion Partnership now has a new home here at the Healthcare Communications Association. Under new leadership of Elena Mills, Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Salve Health and Lucy Eddowes, Scientific Director and Head of Pro Bono at Costello Medical, Passion Partnership will continue to broker partnerships with charities as well as ensuring that all agencies are aware of the benefits of skills-based volunteering.

Elena Mills is Cofounder and Managing Director of medical communications agency The Salve Health (Certified B Corporation). During her career, she just couldn’t understand why the agencies she worked for didn’t offer their employees the opportunity for skills-based volunteering so she had to set up her own agency to realise her dream. Now Elena is looking forward to sharing her passion for, and experience of pro bono working with other agencies.

Lucy is an agency leader, working across medical communications, value communications and HEOR. She has been involved in pro bono work since starting her agency career with Costello Medical and leads Costello Medical’s extensive pro bono programme. She has an interest in developing pro bono capacity across the healthcare agency sector, to enhance our social impact and meet the skills gap in the charity sector.

Rachel has worked in pharmaceuticals, health and technology for over 25 years, in roles ranging from communications and copywriting to quality assurance and vaccinating. It was after a spell volunteering for St John Ambulance during the Covid pandemic that she realised the value of skills-based volunteering and the huge benefits this could bring for everyone involved. She joined Passion Partnership in 2023 to help more people share their expertise pro bono, and to match charities and community organisations with the skills they need to grow and succeed.

What We Do

We facilitate pro bono working between not-for-profit organisations and those involved in the PR and communications industry.

Our goal is to promote pro bono working by connecting organisations who have a shared passion and want to work together to make a difference. Our support ensures that the partnership runs smoothly and is mutually beneficial.

By sharing and building on success stories, our vision is that pro bono working becomes standard practice across the healthcare communications sector.

Passion Partnership In Action

We exist to match, mentor and build a pro bono community.
