healthcommsvolunteers.com allows not-for-profit organisations to advertise for volunteer support from the health comms sector
UK, 28th April 2020:
To facilitate the NHS and health charities in finding potential volunteers from the healthcare communications community to help support them during these challenging times, the Healthcare Communications Association (HCA) has launched a new website, https://healthcommsvolunteers.com
Any not-for-profit organisation looking for volunteer support from healthcare communicators - individuals or companies - can advertise their requirements on the site. The website is provided as a free service by the Healthcare Communications Association.
“These are challenging times for everybody, but especially for the NHS and health charities. Never before has all our futures been so intrinsically linked. Healthcare communications professionals need to therefore consider what we can do to help support these organisations.” explains Mike Dixon, HCA CEO and continues: “This new website creates the platform for NHS organisations and health charities to connect with the healthcare communications community whose skills could be of benefit.”
The availability of the resource has been welcomed by the medical charity sector; Aisling Burnand, Chief Executive, Association of Medical Research Charities commented: “The impact of COVID-19 poses a real threat to the viability of our member charities, both now and in the future. Strategic communications are more important than ever to rally support for the sector and deliver a message of hope and action to the public at this challenging time.” Aisling continued: “We’re thrilled that the Healthcare Communications Association is creating a platform for their members to volunteer their skills and experience to provide much-needed assistance to charities and the NHS. This will enable our member charities to continue to do what they do best, save and improves lives.”
To place a request for volunteers on the website, all an organisation needs to do is email firstname.lastname@example.org
They will then be given a personal login to place their request for support on the website.
For healthcare communicators wanting to volunteer, they can respond via the website direct to the organisation looking for support.
Further information can be obtained via the same email address or by contacting the HCA at email@example.com
