HEARD MENTALITY WEEK

HEARD MENTALITY WEEK

IT'S TIME TO TAKE POSITIVE ACTION ON MENTAL HEALTH.

The HCA has joined with the CIPR and PRCA in supporting HEARD MENTALITY WEEK.  Following work tracking industry mental health and wellbeing, for the first time our organisations are working together to launch the Heard Mentality campaign to inspire communications professionals to take positive action on mental health across the industry.

We are urging leaders to hold constructive talks with their team members or peers on mental health during the week commencing 13th September and to listen to what the people that make up the industry really want.  But of course, the conversation should not stop there, and the excellent resources available can continue be used after the week is over.

The resources include a facilitator guide, slides, support materials and links to short videos sharing mental health considerations in 5 key areas, provided by Laura Rosenthal, Mental Health Instructor member for MHFA England

JOIN THE 'HEARD’

1. Organise - or encourage your employer to organise - a face-to-face or online ‘Heard Mentality’ conversation during this week (13th September). And if this week is not possible choose another time. But please remember, every week you delay is another week a colleague may be experiencing mental health concerns that these talks could help identify and provide the start of some support.

2. Subscribe below to receive a Conversation Starter Pack today and pledge to support the campaign.

3. Pledge your support on social media to help raise awareness through your own networks #HeardMentality

4. Prepare for the discussion by considering:

            - how your colleagues are doing

            - what practical changes can be made in the workplace to support your mental health

             - your own personal experience of mental health
