Shared Experience: You Understand the Disease But Do You Understand the Life?

General information

Join this session to be refreshed and inspired to think differently about how we uncover and tell the human stories behind the science.

The session will explore how we can:

  • Recognise how a condition can reshape the way someone sees and moves through the world
  • Reframe a clinical problem around human experience, and communicate that difference to the people who need to act on it
  • Identify the small, easily overlooked moments that can carry more significance than the things people think to report

Nick Leon Biography

Nick Leon founded Naked Eye in 2003 to close the distance between how healthcare organisations imagine patients' lives and how patients actually live them. For more than two decades, working with leading global healthcare organisations, he has lived alongside people in over 30 countries recording more than 10,000 hours of real life. His work reveals what patients don't say and organisations don't see, turning it into the stories that reshape how they communicate with, and design for, the people they serve. His belief is simple: show up. Spend time in their world. Build trust. Listen. See it as they see it.
