Come and meet James Gallagher, acting Health Editor, BBC News website, who will be speaking at our Journalist Breakfast Briefing on Monday 12th October 2015. 

James will talk about his typical day, what it's like doing his job with the BBC News website - as well as providing some tips on how to enter into dialogue with him about possible news articles and areas of interest.

James Gallagher - Biography

James Gallagher is the health editor for the BBC News website. The first class biology graduate joined the organisation as a trainee in 2005. He then spent stints in Northern Ireland and on Radio 4 before specialising in health and medical science in 2010. He has been at the forefront of the organisation’s coverage of stories ranging from the UK approving “three-person babies” to the rise of immunotherapy in cancer treatment. Alongside running the online team he regularly broadcasts across the BBC’s UK and international radio and television stations. He has received awards for his journalism from the Radio Academy, the Medical Journalists Association, the Association of British Science Writers and the Endocrine Society.
