Rebecca Coombes, Head of Journalism, The BMJ
Rebecca is an experienced magazine editor with a 25-year history of working in publishing. An editor at The BMJ since 2010, she heads up the journalism team, with responsibility for investigative journalism, news and features. Rebecca is also editorially responsible for The BMJ’s weekly print magazine, sent to more than 100,000 UK doctors each week. Her interests include public health, access to affordable medicines, corruption in healthcare, conflicts of interest, and the influence of lobby on healthcare policy. She is a member of the board of the Investigative Journalism Bureau (IJB) at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto.
 
Zosia Kmietowicz, News Editor, The BMJ
Zosia Kmietowicz is news editor at the BMJ. She has been a medical journalist for more than 30 years and has been in her current role at the BMJ for five years. She has responsibility for delivering the BMJ's news output online and in the weekly print journal as well as contributing to other sections of the journal. She recently led the production of a themed issue of the BMJ on Racism in Medicine, published in February 2020, which highlighted the discrimination in health service delivery for ethnic minority patients and in the treatment of ethnic minority doctors in the NHS. The publication led to the announcement in May of an NHS Health and Race Observatory to address these issues.
