The HCA’s annual Consultancy Benchmarking Programme provides a real value-added membership service to our agency members.
It provides quantitative data to help organisations with their business planning, and generates insights into trends within our sector to guide how we can support members to overcome common challenges and achieve the highest standards in healthcare communications.
- The Benchmarking Programme always includes an online survey focusing on benchmarking of consultancies’ financials, HR data and business performance over the previous year.
- In alternate years, a telephone phase is also conducted - involving a short interview with a senior person from each consultancy, to look at industry trends.
Participating consultancies are provided with detailed reports that include individually tailored charts showing the organisation’s own data benchmarked against the averages, whilst some of the more general findings are shared more widely. The benchmarking exercise is handled according to the strictest codes of confidentiality, carried out by a specially commissioned, independent market researcher in order to guarantee anonymity and confidentiality. Only aggregated/anonymised data are included in any of the reports, and the names of participating companies are not published.
