Sharing the patient voice on social media – obligation or risk?

Monday, 20 January 2025, 12:30-13:30

Join this lively panel discussion to learn from our panellists about the benefits and challenges of working with social media influencers, top tips and key considerations for the healthcare and pharma industry.

Our panellists

  • Mercy Shibemba, Community Engagement Consultant
  • Jessica Greenman, Communications and Patient Advocacy Manager, Ipsen UK & Ireland
  • Eric Ngwenya, Compliance Consultant, Compliance Hub

Our expert panellists will share their perspectives on, insights about and approaches to working with social media influencers, addressing the following questions:

  • Why is it important to incorporate and share the voice of people living with long-term health conditions?
  • What are the benefits of incorporating these voices in healthcare social media campaigns?
  • How can we involve people living with long-term health conditions in our social media campaigns, and at what stage should they be involved?
  • What are some of the perceived risks associated with working with people living with long-term health conditions on social media platforms, and how can these be addressed?

This webinar forms part of a series, brought to you by the HCA and communications agency 90TEN – part of Envision Pharma Group – that facilitates in-depth knowledge-sharing and discussion across a range of patient advocacy topics.

More about our panellists

Mercy Shibemba MBE is an award-winning advocate, sharing her story of growing up with HIV to educate, challenge and inspire. She has worked on various youth-engagement programmes, ensuring that the voices of young people are centred in HIV science. She is also a health journalist, podcaster and grant-maker.

In addition, he has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having held roles across both commercial and medical affairs. This diverse background has given him a deep understanding of the Code and industry best practices.

Detail-oriented and proactive, Eric has a keen eye for data, with a particular focus on claims and substantiation, ensuring that information is both accurate and impactful.
