As part of World Menopause Day (18 October), we’re asking all those working in healthcare communications to PAUSE and watch back our Shared Experience session about understanding the impact of the menopause at work.
The menopause affects every person differently. Adjustments need to be made at work to ensure people going through the menopause can function as their best selves at this time. The more we talk and learn about the menopause, the better things will be for all.
That’s why, in partnership with fox&cat, the HCA has developed a new information resource to help guide conversations around the menopause at work. It empowers people to take charge of their own menopause while also educating teams and employers on the need-to-know information so that they may offer the right level of support.
The panel comprises:
- Lucy Heaton, menopause expert
- Antonia Katsambis, Independent HR consultant (tbc)
- Paul Hutchings, founder of fox&cat
- Mike Dixon, CEO of the HCA
Did you know?
- Women over the age of 50 are the fastest growing group in the UK workforce
- As the average age of the menopause is 51, symptoms can often occur at the peak of a woman’s career
- Currently around 10% of women aged 45-55 have left their jobs due to the menopause
