Shared Experience: Who Cares? How can we better support caregivers to improve patient outcomes?

General information

This year, the HCA and communications agency 90TEN – part of Envision Pharma Group – are partnering to bring you a series of four webinars that will facilitate in-depth knowledge-sharing and discussion across a range of patient advocacy topics.

Webinar 1 takes place on Monday 8 July 2024. It will focus on the role of the healthcare industry in supporting caregivers to achieve better health outcomes for the people they care for, whilst advocating for their own needs and wellbeing.

We are delighted to be joined by Chris Bedford-Gay, Founder and Chairman of FOP Friends, who will be sharing his lived experience of caring for his son Oliver, who was diagnosed Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP), a very rare progressive condition, in 2009; Trishna Bharadia, health advocate and Patient Engagement Consultant, who will share her experience of being a caregiver and the potential role of pharmaceutical companies to support caregivers; and Chelsea Moran, a member of the Patient Partnerships Team at Astellas, who, drawing on her experience in the pharmaceutical industry, will share examples of the work her team has done to support caregivers, and why Astellas is elevating the voice of caregivers to improve patient outcomes.

Session Outline:

  • Setting the scene: Caregiving and the challenges faced
  • Caregiving: a personal perspective – Chris Bedford-Gay, FOP Friends
  • The hidden voice and the role of industry – Trishna Bharadia
