Book now for this unique workshop which provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practicalities of a core area of health care communications - working with patient advocates and patient advocate groups across the life cycle. 
 
Facilitated by Nick Hicks of Commutateur Advocacy Communications and supported by Christoph Thalheim, Director External Affairs, European Multiple Sclerosis Platform (EMSP), this is a practical, hands-on workshop giving delegates a unique mix of theory and practical implementation of real life patient initiatives across the national and European spectrum.
 
The workshop is designed to allow delegates an opportunity to work together in small teams and review the key compliance principles for ethically working with patients and how patient advocacy & engagement fits into a company’s overall strategy. Aimed at individuals and teams without a specialist background in patient advocacy / engagement and for executives with a background in the area who want to deepen their knowledge.

  • Recognise the key elements of a compliant patient advocacy and engagement strategy.

Key content

Biographies

Christoph Thalheim, Vice CEO and Director External Affairs at European Multiple Sclerosis Platform started working with EMSP in 2000, as Secretary General. He has been active on the Brussels stage since early 1990s, working at first for a major international NGO focussing on intercultural learning and international youth exchange. He describes himself as follows: “I am burning for the cause of the organisation I work for - to improve the life of people with Multiple Sclerosis through the sharing of best practice and advocacy towards European and national decisionmakers.”

Nick Hicks supports advocacy leaders within life science companies to build and implement long-term patient engagement strategies. He has been running his own single consultancy business since 2007. Based in Paris since 1997. He has worked in health comms and patient engagement for over 25 years. He lectures on the European Market Access University Diploma (EMAUD) since 2012 on the role of patient advocacy and engagement across the life cycle.
