Workshop aim: this workshop offers a valuable insight into the structure and function of the pharmaceutical industry; helping you to understand and perform well within your environment. This course is aimed at junior staff.

Facilitator: Phil Yates, Coachwise Consultants

Audience: This event is aimed at junior consultants who are new to the pharmaceutical industry.  However, it is also open to more senior consultants/account managers who think they would benefit from having a general overview of the whole industry.

Outline: The course will explore the landscape and function of the global pharmaceutical industry and will look at how  medicines are developed, manufactured, marketed, distributed and regulated. We will look at how companies operate globally and within different sectors, e.g. generics, small molecules, biologics, orphan drugs, consumer etc.  An overview of the varied commercial issues faced by the global industry and its stakeholders will help support strategic thinking and aid participants' understanding of client relationships.

If you are new to your role, or you would appreciate being brought right up-to-date in this incredibly fast-paced and exciting environment, this course is perfect for you. If you are a more senior Comms Professional new to healthcare, you will find this experience invaluable in making that transition. And whilst it is not a pre-requisite, you will find that it is it is extremely helpful to attend Pharma Industry Essentials before the Molecule to Marketing course as the latter looks in more detail at communications within the industry, building upon the broad knowledge you gain here.
